Odran Madden, Managing Director
Odran Madden is a Chartered Engineer with over 20 years’ experience in the construction industry and over 15 years’ experience at management level undertaking civil engineering and building construction projects of varying scales, values and complexities. He has worked for Coffey since graduating in 2000. Odran has gained extensive knowledge and experience in water, wastewater, road, rail, energy and specialist engineering projects. His role is to ensure that all projects are completed safely, to a high standard, to our clients’ satisfaction and that the project teams are provided with the necessary technical support and resources. Odran holds BEng and LLB degree’s; is a Chartered Engineer, Fellow of Institute of Engineers of Ireland and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Simon Coffey, Director of Business Development and Plant
Simon Coffey is a Chartered Engineer with over 20 years’ experience in the construction industry and 15 years’ experience at senior management level. Simon has overseen projects of varying values, scales and complexities in both Ireland and the UK. Simon has extensive knowledge and experience in water, wastewater, earthworks, road, rail and specialist engineering projects and holds BEng, BSc and MBA degree’s; is a Chartered Engineer, Member of the Institute of Directors and Member of Institute of Engineers of Ireland.
Sean Coffey, Director of Human Resources and IT
Sean has worked in the building and civil engineering industry for over 15 years. Prior to that, Sean worked in the IT industry as a Software Developer. Sean has led the development of innovative software solutions, which have been successfully applied for the efficient management of projects across Coffey. Sean was appointed Director of HR and IT at Coffey in 2015 and holds a BSc, an MBA from NUIG, Galway, is a Member of the MBA Association of Ireland and a Member of the Institute of Directors.
Gary Coffey, HSQE Director
Gary has worked in the construction industry for over 18 years, having first joined Coffey in 2002. He was instrumental in developing and implementing our Quality and Environmental Management Systems and achieving accreditation against ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 and ISO 50001. Gary oversees the preparation of all project quality and environmental plans and site waste management plans. Gary coordinates the management review of business functions and presents regular reports to the Board on our performance against our Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental objectives and internal Key Performance Indicators. Gary holds a BE, is a Member of Institute of Engineers of Ireland and an Associate Member of the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment.
Rory Donnelly – Operational Director
Rory Donnelly has worked for Coffey since 2004. Rory has a degree in Civil Engineering from NUIG and has achieved Chartership status from Engineers Ireland. His current role within the Group is Eastern Regional Director in Ireland. Rory is responsible for the procurement and delivery of large and small-scale infrastructure projects within the water and wastewater, road, rail, bridge and building sectors.
John Gibbons – Operational Director
John is a Chartered Engineer with a first-class honours degree in Civil Engineering. He has over 15 years’ experience in the industry while working in Ireland and the UK. He joined Coffey in 2002 and since then has covered many disciplines such as Design and Build of Water and Waste Water Projects, Roads and Bridges, Rail, Buildings, Utilities and Marine.
Joe Lavan – Commercial Director
Joe Lavan is a Chartered Engineer and holds a Master’s Degree in Project Management. Joe has significant experience in the Civil Engineering sectors of Water, Wastewater, Utilities, Roads, Rail, and Bridges. Joe has also held senior positions in the Building sector, including delivery of large-scale, residential, commercial, hotel, leisure, and education projects and particularly off-site and rapid build construction.
Martina O’Connor – Financial Controller
Martina is a qualified Chartered Management Accountant with over 20 years’ experience in finance. Throughout her career, Martina has performed all the roles associated with the finance function in various industries including financial services, telecommunications, food production as well as construction, experience has been obtained both in Ireland and the UK.Having joined Coffey in 2007, Martina now performs the role of Financial Controller and uses her knowledge and experience in the areas of financial and management accounting to deliver financial support and direction to and for the Group.
Kieran Ryan – Operational Director
Kieran is a Chartered Civil Engineer and over 20 years’ experience working in Ireland’s Construction Industry. Kieran has worked with Coffey since 1999 where he has gained extensive knowledge and experience in a range of areas including Design & Build, Water & Wastewater, Transportation, Infrastructure, Building Works and Specialist Engineering Works. Kieran is a highly committed and experienced Construction Professional and is involved in wide-ranging functions within the company including Project Planning, Resource Management, Financial Management, Commercial Management and Tendering. Kieran is dedicated to delivering high-quality projects safely with a strong focus on building client relationships.
Eoin Colgan – Engineering Director
Eoin is a Graduate of Civil Engineering from Trinity College Dublin. He is a Chartered Civil Engineer and a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers of Ireland. Eoin joined Coffey in 2020 and brings 28 years’ public and private sector experience in large scale civil, building construction and design projects both in Ireland and the USA. His expertise includes building high-performance teams, managing large-scale, complex technical projects and budgets and a proven track record of meeting project deadlines. Eoin provides technical guidance, leadership, coaching and direction to the engineering personnel in his role as Engineering Director with Coffey.
Mark Coffey, Property Director
Mark joined Coffey in 1993 and over the following 25 years has been involved in all Coffey property developments. Mark was appointed Property Director in 1998 and has responsibility for all aspects of the companies property portfolio.
