Project Description
The works consisted of the construction of approximately 4,000m2 of footways on Ormond Quay Lower, Bachelors Walk & Henrietta Street using precast concrete flags laid on 30mm thick Laying Course with primer and jointing material. The laying course and jointing material were compliant with BS 7533 Parts 4 & 12. The laying course was laid on a 125mm of ST4 concrete road base. The concrete road-base was laid on 100mm of Clause 808 sub-base material. The remaining 2,930m2 consisted of 100mm deep concrete footway on 100mm Clauses 808 at Bolton Street, Yarnhall Street, Henrietta Place, Summerhill & Ballybough Road. Included in this contract also was tactile paving and re-setting of antique granite kerbing and asphalting tree surrounds. Works associated with resetting street furniture and service chamber lids were also included in the works required.
Project Delivery
This project involved the completion of elements of work similar to Manchester City Council Highways framework including:
- Site Clearance – General site clearance including street furniture
- Kerbs and Footways – Laying of new kerb lines and full footway construction
- Landscaping – Soft Landscaping works
