Coffey Group are delighted to announce the official opening of two new wastewater treatment plants in Mohill and Manorhamilton Co. Leitrim. The upgraded plants will serve a combined 4,400PE and contribute significantly to improving the quality of local water courses, ecosystems, public amenities and surrounding environs.
The project involved the construction of new storm retention tanks at both locations, upgrade to the existing biological treatment systems as well as necessary civil and MEICA infrastructure upgrades. This was a uniquely challenging project given the constraints associated with upgrading live treatment plants, requiring detailed planning and execution at critical junctures to ensure the preservation of the quality of the receiving water bodies throughout the construction phase. It is testament to all involved that this project was delivered successfully on behalf of Irish water and Leitrim Co.Co.
